India vs Netherlands

India beat Netherlands by 160 runs to maintain their undefeated league stage record.

Indian bowlers completely destroyed the Netherland batting as they bowled all eleven players back to the pavilion within 47.5 overs. Only Teja Nidamanuru (54 runs) and Colin Ackermann (35) could score more than 20 runs for their side; all other batsmen struggled to keep pace with an increasing required run rate; Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav took wickets for India.

India won the toss and elected to bat first at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got off to a superb start, scoring an outstanding total of 91 runs during Powerplay 1. Both players showed great aggression against Dutch bowlers while making many beautiful shots.

Rohit and Rahul formed an incredible 208-run partnership – the highest fourth-wicket stand ever seen in an ODI match. Rohit reached his first century in just 84 balls while Rahul reached his in just 62. Both batters hit five sixes and 10 fours respectively during their innings. Rohit’s performance caused a collapse in Netherlands batting with Wesley Barresi and Logan van Beek getting out cheaply before Kuldeep Yadav joined in and trapping Ackermann leg before wicket before Kuldeep Yadav joined in and eliminated them all before coming close to reaching 411 targets set against them by India.

India batting first

After an impressive showing in their previous match, India have continued their excellent form with bat. The two-time World Cup winners scored an astounding total of 326/5 in the first innings against South Africa and are looking good heading into their semi final matchup with Netherlands. A win will give India momentum going into these key semifinal matches.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill enjoyed an exceptional start, reaching fifty within six overs. Young Gill proved particularly dangerous against Netherlands bowlers as he hit several sixes during his initial spell with the bat; surpassing AB de Villiers to become this year’s leading six-hitter in this competition.

Kohli and Gill quickly increased the required rate as they continued their run scoring at an alarming rate, eventually falling victim to Indian spinners such as Aryan Dutt who conceded 16 runs from his initial 11 balls before being dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja.

Mohammed Siraj then struck again, getting Wesley Barresi out as his attempted sweep was caught by KL Rahul at point. Max O’Dowd also fell to this combination as Jasprit Bumrah bowled another powerful spell and Rahul caught him off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling for another catch by Rahul.

Kuldeep Yadav also dismissed Ackermann in the next over. Ackermann attempted to play the sweep shot but failed, prompting Yadav to bowl him immediately afterwards.

Netherlands batting second

India’s star-studded batting lineup ran roughshod over Netherlands as Rohit Sharma (61) and Shreyas Iyer (118 not out) propelled India’s hosts to a mammoth total in their opening ODI match against Netherlands on Tuesday, scoring half centuries all four batsmen of their top order scored half centuries for India – becoming only fifth team ever in ODI history to achieve this feat! These two also smashed boundary after boundary to take the score past 400 marks; setting record highest fourth-wicket stand ever seen during this tournament!

The opening pair was at its best during the second powerplay with a 71-run partnership, setting the pace for an extraordinary innings. Aryan Dutt stepped in after Roelof van der Merwe was bowled, hitting two fours and sixes to achieve his maiden ODI fifty; shortly thereafter Shubman Gill hit three fours and sixes before eventually falling to Paul van Meekeren.

Kuldeep Yadav entered the attack, beginning his first over with five dots and one single. Mohammed Shami then took control and gave only three singles during his next over. Mohammed struck again, bowling Scott Edwards leg-before wicket with one brilliant delivery before taking care of dangerous Colin Ackermann as well.

Jasprit Bumrah made his entrance and bowled a maiden over, Wesley Barresi and Max O’Dowd were then at the crease; O’Dowd looked in danger until KL Rahul dropped him on delivery three by KL Rahul; however, Siraj took care of him on ball four which led to an innings collapse as Max O’Dowd was dismissed by Siraj the very next ball for zero runs off an over that caused a collapse resulting in India completing nine wins out of 9 games overall and eight consecutive victories on a league stage game day one!

India bowling first

India are set for another semi-final clash against New Zealand after defeating Netherlands with ease, hoping that victory here will see them through to the final and make history as being unbeaten during all nine World Cup 2023 matches.

Indian bowlers have been on a tear, dismantling every team in their path with ease. All four top batsmen nailed fifties, with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer scoring tons to give India an unassailable lead heading into the semi-finals.

Mohammed Siraj returns to bowl one maiden over. New batter Wesley Barresi just misses out on hitting Colin Ackermann for six on delivery three.

Siraj begins his second over by landing one on the pads of the new batter, who miscues his pull to be caught at short cover. Siraj then throws out another straight ball which is cut to fine leg fence for a single hit.

Shubman Gill has already scored his 50 off 30 balls and is in an excellent partnership with Rohit Sharma, having already hit two sixes during this innings. Meanwhile, Teja Nidamanuru had also hit fifty but was dismissed soon thereafter as Bumrah bowled Bumrah as the match neared an end – placing Netherlands in an extremely precarious situation as they need 168 runs in 18 balls to ensure victory.

Netherlands bowling second

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer scored hundreds as India thumped Netherlands to post an astounding total of 410-4 from 50 overs in their final group-stage match. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav all collected two wickets each to help put India in an excellent position.

Dutch cricketers were overwhelmed by Indian bowlers, being reduced to 192/6 after 40 overs. Wesley Barresi quickly ran into trouble against Mohammed Siraj when he hit an edge behind the stumps off of him; later Colin Ackermann was trapped leg before wicket by Kuldeep Yadav for their innings to come tumbling down further.

But that did not deter the Netherlands batsmen, as they mounted an incredible comeback to reach 300. Noah Croes and Max ODowd put together an outstanding 49-run stand for seventh wicket to give their side hope, yet unfortunately lost four wickets within seven runs of reaching 300.

Netherlands are currently sitting bottom in the World Cup after winning only one match out of nine so far. Their only triumph came against South Africa during a round-robin match in Kolkata while they have suffered three defeats and four draws; their only hope now is winning against India to make the semi-finals.

Indian middle order was an instantaneous hit in the first half of this tournament and now they must repeat it against Netherlands at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rahul Dravid praised Indian middle-order for their performance and believes they can do it once more against Dutch. Rahul Dravid noted how top order is providing an ideal platform for middle order. “Both sets of batsmen have done an exceptional job of building platforms for middle order to play on,” according to him.
