Jos Buttler will look to repeat his impressive showing against Ireland at Edgbaston last time out and help strengthen England’s top order alongside Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes.

1st Over

England easily defeated Pakistan in two matches at The Oval, led by Jos Buttler’s bat. As they move towards T20 World Cup play-offs in West Indies later this month, England will look for more victories at home before then.

Shaheen Afridi will provide an added boost for Pakistan when he makes his comeback to their squad, having not been selected in either Test against Bangladesh. His addition will add an extra jolt of pace and firepower against Bangladesh.

Livingstone opens with a wide, which Usman Khan hits back with some force but Jordan at long on saves runs for England. A single and two follow to put England in control, followed by an incredible uppercut shot from Brook which sails into the stands! England lead by two runs; their fans love him! He’ll want to continue this form.

2nd Over

Jofra Archer returned for his third over, shirt tucked-in and red soled trainers on. To start things off he delivered single and wide before offering up an opportunity for Iftikhar Ahmed to run him out; instead he attempted it up the line but was caught at deep midwicket juggling the ball before finally giving in and bowling a wide.

FOUR! A beautiful boundary by Fakhar Zaman on an off length from length-and-off. He deftly dispatched it down the ground past long on and long off fielders to score an effortless six.

3rd Over

As rain pours down heavily in Cardiff, England have seen their third game of this series called off due to incessant drizzle. England won their opening match by 23 runs against Pakistan; now hoping for two from three victories before next week’s World Cup kicks off. Jos Buttler missed this match as his family prepared for the arrival of their third child.

Shaheen Amir begins at the Vauxhall end with shirt tucked-in and red soles matching. Salt shimmies and ramps the first ball for four, then pulled it through second slip for six despite Amir’s best attempts of catching off-hook and diving for it; A slow over completed with single taken as end result of slow over. Game 4 and final match scheduled to take place May 30 at Kennington Oval in London where both teams are hoping for clear weather after two washouts earlier in this series.

4th Over

England’s openers have been in fine form, shredding Pakistani bowlers. Jofra Archer in particular is taking his opportunity to strike. Jofra Archer is making inroads into seam and doing plenty of damage with each delivery he encounters.

England opened their innings with Buttler hitting four with his opening ball of an over, followed by another six via a square drive off ball two. England quickly established an advantage of seven wickets as their innings unfolded.

Haris Rauf was left cursing himself as his sitter off Buttler dropped into his hands and onto the pitch, as Bairstow hit three fours off Naseem Shah over midwicket for three fours in this match alone! Brook then unleashed an uppercut which went straight into the stands! This victory propelled England 2-0 up the series. They can now focus their energy towards World Cup defence as their second game is set for Friday at The Oval.

5th Over

Salt begins his innings by hitting his first delivery through backward point for four, before being outpaced on his second delivery, smashing it through midwicket for another boundary. Azam Khan takes a diving catch at long on.

Livingstone bowls a double wicket maiden to Pakistan once again and this time Usman attempts to hit it over the rope but picks Jordan out in deep.

England delivered an outstanding bowling performance as they secured their first win since defending their 50-over World Cup last year. Jos Buttler made an exceptional showing, scoring 84 off 51 balls while Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer and Reece Topley’s contributions gave him confidence going into 2022 ICC T20 World Cup tournament. Additionally he took several smart catches while his fielding performance was phenomenal.

6th Over

The Pakistan cricket spot-fixing scandal was an international sports scandal which resulted in three members of Pakistan national cricket team being banned for five years from both international and domestic cricket for accepting bribes from bookmakers to bowl no-balls during international tests played between England and Pakistan in 2010. It first came to light during an England versus Pakistan series held that year.

Reece Topley pitches it full on middle and leg for Fakhar Zaman to grab it down the ground and race away with it to beat the long-on fielder for another boundary. Reece Topley too managed a beautiful boundary during this over.

FOUR! Imad Wasim hits it out of the park here! From middle, he waits until the final second of each turn before smashing it straight down onto the ground to intersect both long on and long off fields to achieve maximum coverage – an absolutely spectacular shot that Jos Buttler then easily takes for four points!

7th Over

England are in good shape, with Salt and Jos Buttler making light work of their task against Pakistan. Buttler struck Shadab Khan for back-to-back sixes off him to put England ahead before Bairstow and Jacks added further runs quickly.

Livingstone opens with a wide, but then attempts to drive one into his leg side. Unfortunately, he does not succeed and then goes on to hit singles and twos instead.

Asitha makes a change by going full against Stone and gets some luck when the ball hits him below the waist before racing towards third man for a boundary. A simple play by Asitha.

8th Over

Jos Buttler is only two hits away from reaching his half-century, having scored 48 runs off 31 balls thus far.

Reece Topley bowled his final over with ease and struck two strikes to leave-handers on length, middle and leg for Shaheen Afridi to attempt a heave but missed. Phil Salt ran in from cover point to take an easy catch near his chest on ball two.

Jos Buttler applauded his team’s performance and was pleased to be part of it, especially appreciating Jofra Archer’s role. England took an early 1-0 lead against Pakistan and will travel to Multan for their second match of this three-match tour series.

9th Over

Jos Buttler led England to an unbeaten 337 total at The Oval and into World Cup semi-final contention with his outstanding 67 from 53 balls at bat, assisted by Ben Stokes who made an unbeaten 84 as they secured victory at The Oval.

Jofra Archer makes an impressive return to England’s side after nearly one year out, taking a wicket in Pakistan’s final over. He enticed Mohammad Wasim into an overthrow that Liam Livingstone quickly collected at second slip.

Naseem Shah’s first ball sails past Salt’s swing for six and four more fours followed by Livingstone taking an excellent diving catch at short third. Topley secured another wicket while Rashid and Wood both provided outstanding catches to leave Pakistan struggling against an uphill task.

10th Over

England concluded their innings against India with a convincing win, thanks to Jos Buttler’s magnificent innings of 84 runs from 51 balls – his brilliance inspired an England victory that will surely please many supporters of Jofra Archer returning to their squad.

Topley pitches it up a length on off, Fakhar Zaman looks to flick but gets an edge that sails over Moeen Ali at first slip for four runs, before leaning on his half volley and driving it into the second tier for another boundary.
